Best Buy early Black Friday deals are now live for everyone

UPDATE: Nov. 1, 2023, 12:35 p.m. EDT This story has been updated with information about Best Buy’s new livestream holiday shopping events.

It’s open season on early Black Friday deals at Best Buy: After a weekend of exclusive access for paid members of the tech retailer’s My Best Buy program, select holiday doorbusters are live for all shoppers in stores, online, and on the Best Buy app as of Monday, Oct. 30.

This is the second phase of Best Buy’s four-part 2023 holiday calendar and a lead-up to its full Black Friday sale, which will be a nine-day affair running from Friday, Nov. 17 (or a week before the actual holiday) through Saturday, Nov. 25.

The calendar caps off with a Cyber Monday Savings Event featuring “savings [of] up to 50% on top gifts” from Sunday, Nov. 26 to Monday, Nov. 27 (or actual Cyber Monday), but additional deals will likely succeed it. Last year, Best Buy hosted a series of 24-hour flash sales called 20 Days of Deals throughout December.

Best Buy announced its Black Friday plans on Oct. 17, becoming the first major retailer to do so. (Target and Walmart were next.) While the pre-Halloween debut of these first deals might seem hasty, Best Buy’s Black Friday offers have arrived even earlier in years past: In 2022, they began trickling out on Oct. 24.

This initial crop of public deals is different than those featured in Best Buy’s Black Friday Early Access for Members event (only a couple carried over) with a heavier focus on TVs, headphones from brands like Sony and JBL, and Google Nest smart home devices.

Best Buy’s official Black Friday sale will likely include its most and best discounts of the holiday season, but we strongly recommend looking for items on your wish list there well ahead of time: All Best Buy Black Friday deals (early and not) are available in limited quantities with no rain checks, and items that sell out right away may not get restocked later on. This is especially true for items included in its new Best Buy Drops program, which will continue throughout the holidays on the Best Buy mobile app.

Other unique, limited-time deals will also be popping up sporadically throughout the first half of November as Best Buy rolls out a new facet of its holiday plan: a series of livestream holiday shopping events. Best Buy and live shopping platform TalkShopLive are teaming up on Nov. 1, 8, and 15 to showcase gift ideas in categories that you may not initially associate with Best Buy, from beauty and wellness to kitchen gadgets to outdoorsy stuff. The first show will cover beauty tech from brands like Dyson and Therabody and is set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 1 at TalkShopLive.

Budget-friendly OLED TVs are relatively rare — as are discounts that exceed the 50% mark among big-name brands like LG. This is a match of a members-only deal we first saw during Best Buy’s 48-Hour Flash Sale in mid-October, which was meant to compete with Prime Big Deal Days (Amazon’s October Prime Day sale).

Apple didn’t announce a replacement for its pint-sized desktop computer at its “Scary Fast” October event, so the M2 model is still a safe buy. Best Buy just put the 256GB base model on sale for $499, or $100 off, matching its record-low price at Amazon (where it’s currently sold out). You can double that storage for $200 more.

Google recently unveiled the Chromebooks Plus, a new series of premium Chromebooks with built-in Google apps, Full HD IPS displays, and 1080p+ cameras with AI features — they’re basically next-level budget laptops. This 2-in-1 HP model capable of doing double duty as a tablet comes with a 12th-generation Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, and Best Buy just marked it down to $379 as an early Black Friday deal. That’s a whopping 46% off its suggested retail price of $699, which is an outrageous discount for a laptop that’s barely a month old.
